As your business grows, efficiently managing team access to your PayMongo account becomes crucial for security, accountability, and streamlined workflows. PayMongo's User Management feature empowers account owners to invite teammates, assign specific roles, and control permissions, ensuring that every team member has the right level of access. This article will provide a comprehensive guide to understanding and utilizing User Management to securely manage your team's access within your PayMongo Dashboard.
What is User Management?
User Management is a vital feature within your PayMongo Dashboard that allows the primary account owner to control who has access to the company's PayMongo account and what actions they can perform. It's designed to:
Improve Security: Limit access to sensitive information and critical functions.
Prevent Unintended Actions: Reduce the risk of errors by assigning only necessary permissions.
Enhance Accountability: Clearly define responsibilities for each team member.
Increase Efficiency: Streamline workflows by granting specific access tailored to job roles as your business scales.
Key Roles and Definitions
Understanding the specific roles within PayMongo's User Management helps in assigning appropriate access:
Account Owner: This is the individual who initially created the PayMongo account. The Account Owner has full, all-access permissions to every feature and setting in the Dashboard, including the ability to manage other users, change bank account details, and access all sensitive information. There can only be one Account Owner.
Team Member: Any new user who is invited and granted access to the company's PayMongo account by the Account Owner. A Team Member's permissions are strictly defined by the role group they are assigned to.
Permissions: A specific set of functions or actions that an Account Owner (or an authorized assignee with "Manage users" permission) can grant or deny to a Team Member.
Understanding Available Permissions
Before inviting a team member, it's highly recommended to define the specific permissions required for your business's internal workflows. PayMongo offers granular control over various functions:
