These tools allow you to collect payments for products, services, subscriptions, or donations by simply sharing a link or directing customers to a dedicated checkout page. Discover how these solutions can streamline your payment collection and enhance your customer's experience.

Prerequisites for Using No-Code Solutions

To start using PayMongo Links and Pages, you need:

  • An activated PayMongo merchant account.

  • A clear understanding of the product or service you are selling and the amount you need to collect.

Understanding PayMongo Links

PayMongo Links offer a flexible and straightforward way to collect payments by providing customers with multiple payment options through a shareable link.

What are PayMongo Links?

PayMongo Links are unique, secure URLs that you can generate from your PayMongo Dashboard. Each link is tied to a specific payment or product, allowing you to easily send payment requests to individual customers or for specific transactions.

  • How they work: You create a link for a product or service. When a customer opens the link, they are taken to a secure payment page where they can choose their preferred payment method and complete the transaction.

  • Ideal for: One-time payments, invoicing specific customers, selling individual products via social media, or collecting payments through messaging apps.

How to Create a PayMongo Link

Creating a PayMongo Link is quick and easy:

  1. Navigate to the Links Tab: Log in to your PayMongo Dashboard and click on the 'Links' tab in the sidebar.

  2. Create a Link: Click on the 'Create a link' button.

  3. Input Transaction Details: Fill in all the required transaction details, such as the item description, amount, and any other relevant information.

  4. Generate Link: Click the 'Create' button to generate your unique payment link.

  5. Share with Customer: Once generated, you can easily copy the link and share it with your customer through various channels like SMS, Viber, Messenger, or email. A unique reference number will also be assigned to the link for tracking.

Customer Experience with PayMongo Links

When your customer opens a PayMongo Link, they will go through a clear payment process:

  1. Choose Payment Method: Customers select from available options (credit/debit card, online banking via BPI/UBP, GCash, GrabPay, Maya, BillEase, etc.).

  2. Fill Customer Information: They input necessary billing details (email, contact number, name).

  3. Review Details: Customers review and confirm their billing and payment information.

  4. Complete Payment: The final step involves inputting their payment credentials, which varies based on the chosen method.

  5. Confirmation: After a successful transaction, customers receive an email notification and see a confirmation page.

Understanding PayMongo Pages

PayMongo Pages are always-on, customizable checkout pages that serve as a dedicated online storefront or payment portal for your business.

What are PayMongo Pages?

PayMongo Pages are customizable, hosted web pages that you can set up instantly from your dashboard to collect payments. Unlike links (which are typically for one-off requests), pages are persistent and can serve as a primary payment gateway for your website or various business needs.

  • Ideal for: Collecting payments for products sold or services rendered, ongoing monthly dues, consulting fees, or showcasing a product catalog.

  • Customization: You can customize the page title, logo, description, and accepted payment methods.

Types of PayMongo Pages

PayMongo offers different Page types to suit various collection scenarios:

  • Custom Amount: Ideal when you want your customers to enter the payment amount themselves (e.g., donations, variable service fees).

  • Fixed Amount: Used when customers need to pay a specific, predetermined amount for a single product or service (e.g., a specific course fee).

  • Product Catalog: This powerful page type allows you to display multiple products or services, automatically calculating the total basket size for the customer on a single, integrated page.

Getting to Know Your Pages Dashboard

Your PayMongo Pages Dashboard is where you create and manage all your custom checkout pages:

  • List View: Displays a list of all created pages with details like Page Title, Amount, Page URL, and Date Created.

  • Page Creation: When creating a page, you can set a Page Title, define a unique Page Slug (which forms part of its URL), upload a page logo (JPG or PNG, under 4MB, square format preferred), and add a detailed Page Description (up to 2000 characters with hyperlink support).

  • Preview Feature: Instantly preview your page to visualize changes before saving.

  • Modification: Easily modify existing pages, including editing the Page Slug, Page Type, Page Logo, Description, custom fields, and payment methods.

  • In-store QR Code Request: From the dashboard, you can also request an in-store QR code for seamless in-person payment collection.

Customizing Payment Methods for Your PayMongo Page

You have control over which payment methods are available on your PayMongo Pages:

  1. In the Pages Dashboard, select the specific Page you wish to modify.

  2. Click on the pencil icon located next to "Accepted payment methods."

  3. A list of available payment methods will appear. All activated payment methods are enabled by default. Uncheck the boxes of the payment methods you want to turn off for that specific page.

  4. Once you have made your selections, click "Save."

  5. Confirm the changes by clicking "Yes, save changes."

  6. You can then verify that the payment method has been disabled by checking the available icons on your live PayMongo Page.

Note: If a payment method appears greyed out, it means it is not yet configured or is disabled at an account level. You can contact [email protected] for more information or to enable additional payment methods for your account.
