How to Avail of a PayMongo Soundbox
To get your hands on a PayMongo Soundbox for your business:
Request via In-Store QR Ph Dashboard:
Log in to your PayMongo Dashboard.
Navigate to your In-Store QR Ph Dashboard.
Look for and click on the request form or "Request a Soundbox" button located there.
Submit the Request: Fill out the necessary details in the request form.
Note: The availability of the Soundbox may depend on your account status or specific campaigns. Once your request is processed, PayMongo will guide you on the next steps for delivery and setup.
Activating Your Soundbox: Connecting to the Internet
Option 1: Activating via Cellular Data (GPRS Mode)
This method uses a SIM card for internet connectivity, ideal for portability without relying on Wi-Fi.
Insert the Nano SIM Card: Carefully insert the provided nano SIM card face down into the designated card slot on your Soundbox.
Register Your SIM: Locate the Smart SIM card included in your Soundbox package. Visit
smart.com.ph/simreg
or use the GigaLife app to register it. This is a mandatory step.Activate a Data Package: PayMongo recommends activating SMART MAGIC DATA 99, which offers non-expiring data valid for one year. Ensure your SIM remains active with at least ₱1 load balance at all times, and remember to renew your data package after one year.
Switch to Cellular Data Mode: Hold the Function button (≡) on the Soundbox until you hear the audio prompt “GPRS mode” from the device.
Wait for Audio Prompts: The Soundbox will confirm a successful connection with three sequential audio prompts:
“Configuration done”
“Connecting”
“Ready to work”
Once you hear all three, your Soundbox is successfully connected to cellular data and ready for use.
Note: Cellular data usage is minimal; it's not consumed per payment, as the system only requires an active data connection.
Option 2: Connecting to a Wi-Fi Network
This method connects your Soundbox to an available Wi-Fi network.
Enter Wi-Fi Configuration Mode: Double-press the Function button (≡) located at the back of the Soundbox.
Connect Your Mobile Phone to the Soundbox's Wi-Fi:
On your mobile phone, go to your Wi-Fi Settings.
Look for and connect to a Wi-Fi network name starting with “NL-VB80P.-...”. This is your Soundbox's temporary Wi-Fi hotspot.
Access the Configuration Portal:
Open your phone's web browser (e.g., Chrome, Safari).
In the URL field, input
192.168.1.1
and press Enter. A configuration portal should appear.
Select Your Wi-Fi Network:
On the portal, press “Select a AP” (Access Point) next to "Options."
Choose the desired Wi-Fi network you want your Soundbox to connect to from the list.
Enter Wi-Fi Password:
Input the password for your chosen Wi-Fi network in the designated password field.
Press “Connect.”
Confirm Connection:
A “set ok!” prompt should appear on your phone's browser, notifying you that the Soundbox is connecting to your Wi-Fi.
Wait for the Soundbox to say three audio prompts: “Configuration done”, “Connecting”, and “Ready to work”. These prompts confirm that your Soundbox has successfully connected to your Wi-Fi network.
Starting to Accept Payments with Your Soundbox
Once your Soundbox is successfully connected to the internet (via cellular data or Wi-Fi), it's ready to provide audio confirmations for payments received via your In-Store QR Ph code.
Place the Soundbox at your checkout counter, near your QR Ph Standee.
When a customer scans your QR Ph code and completes a payment, your Soundbox will audibly confirm the successful transaction, providing you with real-time alerts.
